Damage to cargo must be clarified as soon as it has been informed, at latest at the time of arrival of the vessel and cargo at the destination, otherwise the delay may give rise to a dispute in relation to insurance claim or the carriers' liability for damage. Hatch survey is conducted to clarify or verify the above connection. The report of hatch survey, usually followed by damage survey, is the first evidence of cargo damage and is useful to identify the damage and locate when and where it occurred, which has much bearing on the matter of the carrier's liability.
NKKK carries out Pre-Shipment inspections of Cargo on behalf of Overseas Clients including Government Departments.
The purpose of which is primarily to ascertain that the following:
- Iron ore, iron ore pellet, iron sand
- Coal and coke
- Ferroalloy, pig iron
- Steel scrap
- Fluorspar (metallurgical grade)
